I
have photographed all the planets visible to the naked eye; Mercury, Venus,
Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. You can download some excellent close-up images of
these planets from many places on the web, but what I like to do is to take
more wide-angle shots, often with a new moon in the picture, and just after
sunset. It really is special to be on a beach or cliff and watch as the points
of light emerge from a darkening sky, and "hang" there effortlessly
over the ocean.
